I was looking for some academic books in my college library, trying to look for any
book that might resemble the name of the books given by the professors, but alas I knew , it would be a waste. In my entire 4 years of graduation, I dont remember even one time that I have taken a book from the library and read it before the last day of submission of the book.. So I though, well why not take the smallest of the books that will be fun to read as well (as against all the non-fun study material surrounidng me !). That way I will atleast not feel guilty of returning the book without reading it :). An lo, I saw this book which kinda looked funny (from the reviews behind and illustrations by R.K.Laxman, what more can you ask for!) and I brought it home.
The result, I loved it. It is a dismal picture of managers – as someone already pointed out - and was written in the 70's about the state of managers in India, and I think all that some of it (read most of it) still holds true, even in this decade !
Though the books says 'management', it is generally a book for anyone and everyone who is a sub-ordinate and works under a boss . And I think, that accounts to the 85% of the public. So, anyone can read it really. And it is impossible to not get connected to the book atleast once.
I give a thumbs-up to the book and the author who has told some truth with a gist of humour and sarcasm that so well holds together the contents. I would definitely reccomend a read.
